Senior Project Officer

Responsibilities:
Promoting the benefits of the project to and building relationships with women and employers across South West Wales.  Gemma’s role includes the provision of consultancy services to employers to promote and improve equality and diversity policies and procedures within the workplace.  Signing up women to the Ascent training course and identifying each individual’s learning needs.  The delivery and promotion of leadership and management training to women at ILM levels 2 and 3.  Providing tailored individual support for women subscribed to the project.

Experience:
Gemma has valuable experience helping individuals move on in their professional development. She’s worked with a lot of people from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing advice and guidance on employment, training and education, delivering key skills to modern apprentices and developing training for employment preparation programmes. Her supportive teaching and training style helps people build confidence.   
In her consultancy role, Gemma can help employers implement a flexible working policy: “I hope for more employers to be providing flexible working opportunities and to find more women in non-traditional roles.”
