Womenspire ~ Shared Inspiration
Leading Welsh women share their inspiration
As part of Agile Nation’s Womenspire campaign we’ve been asking Welsh women from the world of sport, entertainment and business to tell us what has inspired them in their lives
The Agile Nation project is supporting women to help them unlock their potential at work and we are delighted that a number of leading Welsh women have been kind enough to share with us their inspirational stories.
For many people inspiration is important, as it can help turn dreams into reality and whilst inspiration can’t be taught, it is possible to learn and take inspiration from the experiences of other women. Hopefully by reading these stories of inspiration you will find further inspiration to help you reach your personal goals.

“Comedy inspires me-it appeals to my cheeky side”

I was determined to go for it”
“Reaching the summit of Everest was the most amazing feeling, surrounded by other climbers literally on top of the world. On the way up I was motivated by all the love and support I had received as I strove to achieve my dream and couldn’t have done it without my sponsorship team at VocaLink”
Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE

“I have to have confidence in my own ability when others try and
place limits on it”
“Being at home with my family inspires me the most. When you have a busy home and work life, it’s inevitable that you have to make compromises but it’s important to enjoy the time you do have at home and relax”

“I get my inspiration from seeing others succeed”
“To inspire myself, I set myself goals and targets to reach and I get such a thrill when I achieve them... I really appreciate the time I get to relax with my son and partner. I try my best not to work at weekends so I have plenty of time for picnics and bike rides with my family...”

“I am inspired by so many different things, including people I meet, places I travel, books I read and the art and food I enjoy.
The last time I felt truly inspired was in January, when I visited Patagonia in Argentina. It is a beautiful place and I was inspired by the passion of the Welsh people there to keep the language and culture alive...”
