‘I get my inspiration from seeing others succeed’

“I get my inspiration from seeing people I work with improve and succeed in their roles. To inspire myself,
I set myself goals and targets to reach and I get such a thrill when I achieve them. For example when I was younger I told myself that within a few years I would own
a red BMW; I am currently on my third and my next goal is to own a white Maserati. In my career, there have been many people that have inspired me.

David Stephens, the CEO of Admiral Insurance is an inspiration; not only is he remarkably successful but he is a warm and down-to-earth person. Peter Wood, founder of e-sure and Sheila’s Wheels has also helped me massively in my career. He had enough belief in my business to invest £30 million and has been a huge support to me ever since. Although I’m very focused on my business and seeing it succeed, I really appreciate the time I get to relax with my son and partner. I try my best not to work at weekends so I have plenty of time for picnics and bike rides with my family.”

Wales voting 'yes' to devolution was my most inspiring moment

I am inspired by so many different things, including people I meet, places I travel, books I read and the art and food I enjoy.

The last time I felt truly inspired was in January, when I visited Patagonia in Argentina. It is a beautiful place and I was inspired by the passion of the Welsh people there to keep the language and culture alive...
