We’re helping women Dress to Progress
We all want to look our best for important occasions, and the right outfit can be a major confidence booster – but not if it breaks the bank
Here at Chwarae Teg we’ve joined forces with Tenovus, Wales’ leading cancer charity, to launch an exciting new campaign – Dress to Progress - and we need your help!
During August we’re asking women across Wales to donate unwanted workwear to their local Tenovus charity shop or any of Chwarae Teg’s offices.
The donated clothes will be available from September in Tenovus shops and will give women looking to progress their careers the opportunity to put together an affordable, professional wardrobe.
Hayley Dunne, Agile Nation project manager, said: “The way you present yourself in interview situations not only makes you feel more confident, but also ensures you give a professional first impression, all of which can help you successfully progress your career.
“Through our Agile Nation project we are helping women to who are already in work to progress into more senior positions and progress through their workplace, and we realise that in many cases this calls for a new wardrobe.
In the current economic climate, people’s personal finances are under pressure. Being able to buy an outfit for that important interview, meeting or presentation can be a daunting expense.
I really hope women across Wales support Dress to Progress by going through their wardrobes and donating as many suitable items as possible.”
Do you have clothes to spare?
Go through your wardrobe and dig out any items you no longer need that would be suitable for wearing to an interview or in a formal business environment.
You can drop them off at:
• Any one of Tenovus' 40 shops across Wales
• Any of Chwarae Teg’s 4 offices across Wales
Here are some items we’d particularlylike you to donate:
If you’re not sure whether an item is suitable, please donate it anyway as all donations are welcome.
Do you want to get your business involved?
To make it easy for businesses to support the campaign we can arrange for a Tenovus donation bin to be delivered to your office.
