Case Study - Countryside Council for Wales
Making the most of Agile Nation
According to Learning & Development Manager, Helen Jones, the
Countryside Council for Wales is making the most of the Agile Nation
programme:
‘When we first received the email offering the opportunity of accessing
fully funded and accredited leadership training for women, our initial
reaction was, understandably, “What’s the catch?”
‘However, once the project had been explained to us, we jumped at the
chance to be involved in what is an incredible opportunity for women in
Wales to gain a recognised qualification in leadership.
‘30 women from the Countryside Council for Wales were lucky enough to take up the Ascent programme and completed the Level 2 Team Leading Award. Feedback from the courses delivered by Chwarae Teg has been excellent and the women who attended really got a lot from the opportunity. We’re really pleased to have been involved in what is a fantastic project and are grateful for the opportunity to get so many women through the course. As a public sector organisation, our training budgets are often not adequate enough to be able offer these personal development opportunities and meet all of the organisation’s corporate development needs. This project has allowed these women to undertake development they wouldn’t ordinarily have access to. Hopefully, in time the organisation will start to see the long term benefits, and women will be better represented in senior leadership positions.’
