Become a Team Leader

If you want to become a team leader and develop your management know-how, or simply want to gain formal recognition for a position you already hold, our Level 2 Award in Team Leading can help.

As well as earning you a recognised award from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), a Level 2 Award will provide you with a career development plan and equip you with skills valued by employers, including:

• managing yourself and your time
• developing and maintaining the work team
• motivating yourself and others
• workplace communication
• assertiveness
• managing stress and your work/life balance
• diversity in the workplace

Course of Study

With full tutorial support, you will attend an informative and interactive 5-day course. The course will be held at an accessible venue, normally running between 9:30am to 4:30pm, and your participation is fully funded by the European Social Fund and Welsh Assembly Government at no cost to you.

There are no formal entry requirements.

Where next?

With our guidance and continued support, those gaining the Level 2 Award can complete further Ascent training modules, join the Ascent Development and Mentoring programme, and then progress to other training providers for further qualifications - such as National vocational qualifications (NVQs) in Management.
