Success Story ~ Anheddau Cyf
'The whole organisation is on board with every aspect of the Agile Nation project'
Anheddau Cyf, non-profit social care provider, Based in Bangor, providing support in the North Wales area
Anheddau’s chief executive, Janetta Toleman Jones, said:
"The whole organisation is on board with every aspect of the Agile Nation project. Through Evolve, Anheddau has been able to recognise the many ways the workforce evolves over time and begin to build the capacity for succession.
Llinos Owen works for Anheddau as a Person Centred Planning (PCP) facilitator. She found out about the Ascent Level 2 course through her employer
“The course was a brilliant experience for me. Learning about different leadership styles was a great help as I coach many staff teams throughout Anheddau and every staff team is different, consisting of some new and some more experienced team members.
“As a result of completing the training I was offered the Person Centred Planning (PCP) facilitator role on a full time contract. I became very busy very quickly after starting to work full time, but I was able to use time management techniques to prioritise my work effectively.
“I want to go on to gain as many relevant qualifications as I can and hopefully reach operations manager level before I am 25. Anheddau have already agreed for me to begin the Level 3 Award in Management, which I am really looking forward to.”
Debbie Woolway, a support worker for Anheddau, read about Agile Nation in Anheddau’s newsletter and decided to attend the Ascent programme with the aim of climbing the ladder at work
"The training helped me realise hidden skills I didn’t think I had, and I was able to develop them in the workplace. A lot of people like myself may not realise that they have certain skills until they put them down on paper."
How we helped
Senior project officer, Susie Ventris-Field said:
“We helped Anheddau set up a diversity steering group who are working together to build a diversity strategy. Through Evolve, we also identified 20 women to go through the Ascent programme to develop their management skills."
“It’s invigorating to see the enthusiasm of the participants and how they are transferring this back to the workplace.
Perhaps not all staff will progress to a management role but the skills and knowledge gained as a result of their involvement with the Agile Nation project are sure to enrich their working lives.”
