Evolve Programme for Business ~ Managing Diversity for Business Success
Over 150 employers across Wales are currently seeing the benefits of signing up to the Agile Nation Evolve Programme, and we are actively seeking employers who would like to use our support services to build positive, progressive workplaces, whatever their size and sector.
The current economic climate means small businesses have to be more innovative than ever in order to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.
A rapidly changing workforce and customer base, emerging technology, greater opportunity to tender for public sector contracts, plus a growing demand for flexible working and work life balance and even global trading, means all employers have had to adapt and evolve to stay in the game.
For years big corporations have recognised and enjoyed the business benefits of creating a diverse workforce, as well as the increased productivity that implementing flexible working and creating good work life balance can bring.
Our experience has shown that these solutions work equally well for smaller organisations too, but often the task of introducing these initiatives can seem overwhelming for workplaces without a dedicated HR department. In addition the introduction of the new Equality Act in October 2010 presented many small businesses with an opportunity to review and update their policies and procedures.
The Evolve Programme for employers, part of our flagship ESF funded Agile Nation project, provides tailored support to smaller businesses and assists them to introduce bespoke diversity strategies that really work.
The key to the Evolve programme is recognising that the needs of each organisation are unique and that the actions we advise must be led by a clear business case. In doing so, we ensure that diversity strategies lead to measurable business improvements, without compromising the effectiveness of the organisations we work with.
The programme starts with a one day workshop which will enable delegates to:
- Understand the impact of the new Equality Act
- Maximise the business benefits of diversity
- Develop more effective working practices
- Explore flexible and remote working
Following the workshop qualifying businesses can gain access to up to 6 days of free business support to assist in creating a positive and progressive working environment
We can also offer access to expert, impartial support to implement remote working practices, including assistance with finding the right technology to use and developing policies to ensure that remote working will support and benefit the business
