About us
The aims of the Agile Nation project are to:
- Promote gender equality
- Support career advancement
- Contribute to a reduction in the gender pay gap
The Agile Nation project will assist 2790 women to progress in employment and 610 employers to focus on equality & diversity and flexible working initiatives and will be rolled out across the Convergence areas of Wales. The Virtual Centre of Excellence will be a legacy of best practice for Wales.
Agile Nation supports women in North and West Wales, and the Valleys, who work or aspire to work in management and the organisations employing them.
We do this through:
- Training
- Mentoring
- Providing innovative online resources and consultancy
Our services are fully-funded by the European Social Fund and Welsh Assembly Government with no charge to participants and are available to:
- Individuals and small businesses
- Corporate, public and voluntary sector organisations
For Women
Women will be encouraged and helped to achieve their full potential in the workplace through a programme of training and mentoring, confidence building, encouraging personal development, and providing networking opportunities. We support:
- Career advancement
- Encourage flexible working
- Promote gender equality
- Challenge the gender pay gap
By building rewarding and lasting relationships, our network of locally based experts can produce real benefits for individual women, employers and the Welsh economy.
For Educators
The project will collaborate with educators and advisors to address gender stereotyping and the promotion of equality and diversity in early years education.
For Employers
Help will be given to employers to encourage them to address inequalities in the workplace, including implement work/life balance and flexibility in the workplace through organisational mapping, implementation of ICT (to allow remote working) and an exemplar employer award.
